Junction


Junction/Equip System

The junction equipping system allows customization of magic attacks, effectiveness, combination and Guardian Force availabilities.

Guardian Force Junction Window

This window displays the ability points the Guardian Force receives from its battle. The application of AP allows increased strength, extra abilites, and improved statistics on the equipped character.

Guardian Force Menu

You can place your Guardian Force in or out of a junction. This menu also lists its abilities.

Help Window

Displays the function of the selected menu or option.

Character Photo

Displays the selected character.

Experience

Current experience and amount required for next level.

Junction Guardians

Equipped Guardian Forces. Only one Guardian Force can be equipped per character. In this particular window, Ifrit and Leviathan are equipped.

Available Guardian Forces

List of available collected Guardian Forces.

Guardian Force Experience

Current experience level of the Guardian Force. The higher the amount within an expereince level, the more powerful it becomes.

Equipping Effect

Similar to equipping effects with materia in Final Fantasy VII, Guardian Forces also affect the status of the equipped character. In this particular window, Squall's affected attributes are as follows:

Junction Abilities

You can equip magic abilities to your character when your Guardian Forces have the ability to use junction properites.

Magic Ability

Allows magic abilities to be add or removed from a junction. You can also select "Saikyo" (japanese term) to automatically have the best ability selected.

Stock Magic

Magic that is currently stocked and available for later use or junction use.

Equipping Effect

Lists the current ailment effects of the character. In this particular window Fire, Ice, Lightning, Cure, Double Magic, Protect, and Sense are added.

Available Commands

Lists the available commands in battle. Commands are available depending on the equipped magic and Guardian Forces.

Equipped Weapon

The current equipped weapon. It is undetermined whether weapons will have an equipping effect on the character. Numbers are also appended to weapons for reasons currently unknown.

Junction Magic

Lists the current junction magic. Magic properites can be assigned to six major character and/or Guardian Force statuses: Max HP, Attack. Defense, Magic Power, and Magic Defense.

The functionality of this system is similar to the Elemental and Added Effect Materia in Final Fantasy VII. For example, junctioning Ice magic to your Defense attribute would make you less vunerable against ice/water-elemental attacks.
