WOW, that was some April Fool's joke. Gaming-Intelligence surely fooled me (Jenova7). I got all excited about it until someone told me it was fake. That just pissed me off. Oh well, we got to thank them for their hard work because those images looked really convincing.

Yeah this is a big update in a long time. Well, here it is... the scoop on Final Fantasy Gaiden. These screenshots and information are from Gaming Intelligence. According to them, this is an add-on for Final Fantasy VIII. The main character is Seifer, who was Squall's rival in Final Fantasy VIII. Final Fantasy Gaiden utilizes the same graphics as Final Fantasy VIII, and hopefully will have the same spectacular FMVs. The game is only going to be 2 CDs and cost about $32 US. It will be released as Hironobu Sakaguchi hinted- September 9, 1999 or 9/9/99. Expect more on this upcoming sequel. But in the mean time, here are some really cool screenshots. To prove that this could be real, is a movie. Download it here

According to Gaming-Intelligence, there's a bug in Final Fantasy VIII. The bug occurs on the third disc when one must finish a given area within a certain amount of time. Should the time limit expire during a regular battle, and the player chooses to return to the entrance and try again, the game freezes, forcing the player to reset the system. Luckily the bug will be corrected by the time it reaches North American shores. Also, Electronic Boutique is taking pre-orders for Final Fantasy VIII. I, like any other Final Fantasy fanatic, pre-ordered it. Only 7 more months...

Four CD Tops

In five days, Final Fantasy VIII became the fastest Playstation game. It sold approximately 2.5 million copies in its first five days of release which is pretty unbelievable. It already broke some pre-sales records and now it's breaking sales records. How cool of such a great game selling a hell of a lot of copies. Wonder what's going to happen when it comes to America. Final Fantasy VIII, as you all know, came out on February 11, 1999 With it comes new scenes of Final Fantasy VIII and any potential answers to the mod-chip lockout. Thanks to Gaming Intelligence and their contacts the mod-chip lockout issue was quickly resolved. Here's is how the Final Fantasy VIII box looks like:

It looks really cool and I can't wait to get my hands on the American version. This 4 CD game would surely be much fun. There's also the song, "Eyes on Me", which cost over $1,000,000 US to get Hong Kong singer Faye Wong to sing.

If you want to listen to the song go to our Music Section

If you're going to import this great game, be sure to have a gameshark to "bypass" the mod-chip lockout.
